The Jersey Colts are proud to announce the EJEPL Diamond All-Star selections for the 14U and 12U levels. The annual EJEPL All-Star event is comprised of the top players in the league. The Jersey Colts will send seven players and a Head Coach to participate in this years’ event.

Our 14U all-star game selections are; Aiden Riedy, Matt Gero, Gio Falk, Kent Bishop, Chili Connell, as well as 14U Head Coach, Sam Tafel.  Forward, Aiden Reidy has lead the offensive charge this season for the 14U Colts and has truly distinguished himself as a 3-zone player that can play in any situation. “He is a player who plays the game the right way; we can always count on Aiden to lead by example and make the right plays” according to Head Coach Sam Tafel. Longtime Colt and 14U Captain Matt Gero, is a high scoring defenseman. Coach Atkian, who is coaching Matt for a second year, says “Matty really stepped up to be a difference maker this year. Whether it’s a big goal, hit, or smart play, the team can always count on him”. Colt lifer, Kent Bishop has distinguished himself this year as one of the more physical forwards in the league as well as a top Penalty Killer. New to the Colts family is defensemen, Gio Falk. Gio fit right into Colts program by establishing his physical presence on the ice as well as a shutdown defenseman in all zones. When asked about his impact on the game, coach Tafel stated “Gio’s defensive play has supported our offense tremendously, knowing we have a guy like that on our back end really lets our offense take some chances and play with confidence”. Chili Connell, who worked his way up the Colts goalie ranks since his Squirt season has been a consistent presence between the pipes and has solidified himself as one of the top goalies in the EJEPL. Head Goalie Coach Chris Borkes, upon hearing of Chili’s nomination said “Chili is a difference-maker every time he's in net. His competitive nature and dedication to improving his skill set every practice have contributed to his, and his team’s, success this season”. Head Coach, Sam Tafel has been with the Colts organization for 5 years. When asked about representing the Colts at the EJEPL All-Star game he said “It’s not only a great honor for me personally, but I think it is even more important for the Colts. Every year I have been here we have gotten better and better as an organization, especially this year, and the EJEPL All-Star game is a great platform to demonstrate how seriously we take player development at the Colts”.

Our 12U All-Star selections are Brett Conklin and Nicky Schneider. Brett Conklin, a third year Colt, has taken a big step up this season by establishing himself as a force on the blue line.  “Brett has great hockey sense and imposes his physicality to shut down the top players from opposing teams” commented, Coach Phil Infusino. In addition to Brett, we have first year Colt Nicky Schneider, a gifted scorer who has been a terrific addition to the club.” Nicky’s skating ability and offensive skill has made him a scoring threat every time he steps on the ice” commented Coach, Dave Conklin.

“I am very proud of all of our Jersey Colts All-Star selections. Having seven player selections and a Head Coach representing the Jersey Colts at this event is very exciting.  The entire coaching staff and players have worked extremely hard since August and the selections are proof we are doing the right things both on and off the ice” commented, Director of Hockey and Player Development, Kevin Kamenski.
